What a night: need advice.

CURRENT FEATURE

I could really use a lot of advice right now....I keep wondering if I'm being uptight or did the right thing:

I guess I should start by saying that my parents and my two younger siblings have gone down to Georgia to visit my grandparents for the fourth of July; me and my other sister didn't go because we had to work and could not find anyone to cover for us. So, she and I were to stay home alone for the next four days. My mom specifically told us that no one was allowed over or to spend the night. We both complied.

However, last night, I as I got by from work, hungry and exhausted (I need to find a new job; being a cashier sucks), I noticed there were a large number of cars parked in front of my house and in the driveway. I quickly went inside only to have my ears meet loud, bass-filled music. There were at least ten people in my house, most of whom I didn't even know, drinking a variety of liquors, partying, and trashing the house. I approached my sister and told her that these people needed to leave and she told me that they were getting ready to. I stupidly believed her, went upstairs and went to bed. I woke up at 2:30 in the morning. There was no music, but there were people still downstairs!

I went back downstairs and told my sister again that these people need to leave, and she simply brushed me off. To make matters worse, there were cops patroling the neighborhood and they passed by my house a couple times! She was underage with alcohol and could have easily been caught.

Finally, I just gave up and went back to bed. I woke up the next morning and found three people sleeping in the house that shouldn't have been there, one of them had been throwing up all night and was asleep on the floor. I called my mother and told her what happened and she in turned told my dad, who needless to say was pissed. He talked to my sister and told her that she was grounded. Now my sister is angry at me because I ratted her out and my father is angry at me because I didn't tell him sooner. She embarassed me in front of her friends and called me a loser, saying I have no friends and that everyone hates me. Was I overreacting or did I do the right thing? I'm so confused....
